Why San Diego carpets get dirty differently
Coastal homes track in fine beach sand that sits at the base of the pile and cuts fibers every time someone walks over it. Inland, dry Santa Ana winds and wildfire smoke leave a grey film of fine particulate. Both need a thorough dry vacuum before any water touches the carpet, which is why we vacuum first on every job.
Sea air also keeps indoor humidity higher near the coast. Over-wet carpet in a Pacific Beach or Ocean Beach rental can smell musty for days, so we use controlled water volume, fast extraction and air movers when needed.

Carpet Cleaning FAQ
How long does carpet take to dry after cleaning?
Usually 4 to 8 hours. Opening windows, running the AC or a ceiling fan shortens it. Coastal homes with high humidity can take toward the longer end.
Is steam cleaning or dry cleaning better for carpet?
Hot-water extraction removes more soil and residue from deep in the pile and is what most manufacturers specify for warranty care. Low-moisture methods dry faster but mostly clean the top of the fibers.
How often should carpets be professionally cleaned?
Every 12 to 18 months for most households, and every 6 to 12 months with pets, kids or allergy sufferers.
